.workshops & community projects

Our fundamental workshop principal is to steer away from the novelty attitude film companies usually adopt when teaching workshops, especially to the youth. We aim to educate and empower with our workshops - teaching participants about film language and helping them to understand the creative decision making process involved in making a film. We don't just want participants to come away from the workshop with a trophy film - we want them to come away with new skills, new outlooks, and an understanding of a new way to express themselves.

The layouts of our workshops are very flexible, depending on timescales, numbers, what the participants want in particular, and so on. The films are the participants work at every level, with Subjective Realities merely acting as facilitators, encouraging the them to question their ideas and decisions and gain an insight into how and why they are doing what they are doing. On top of this we also teach participants the importance of skills such as clear communication, planning & organisation, and how to cultivate a strong group dynamic.

Below are a few films that have been made during workshops we have facilitated.
